We founded the Center for Protection of Rights in Health Care (CZPZ) because better health care can be accomplished only on the basis of protected rights. The Center for Protection of Rights in Health Care was registered on 08.10.2007 in Sofia City Court registration number 14322/07 as a legal non-profit entity. CZPZ is listed as an organization working in the public interest in the Ministry of Law.
When we talk about protecting the rights in health care we mean the following: The rights of patients The rights of the health-insured The rights of doctors and other medical professionals The rights of legal entities – hospitals and other health institutions The rights of citizens related to the medical expertise on their ability to work
The protection of rights includes: Information on the rights in healthcare Actions to better regulate the rights Actions when rights have been infringed
Our final objective is to facilitate the creation of public attitudes and convictions that the realization of rights in health care is possible. To achieve that goal the Center for Protection of Rights in Health Care: Provides information and consultation Prepares analysis, suggestions and recommendations Provides representation in front of the public administration and the courts Protects infringed individual and/or collective rights
Our daily activities include: 1.Creation and functioning of a center for general and specialized information and consultation on healthcare and on social insurance, assistance and adaptation 2.Organization of units for legal consultation and protection of general and individual rights by legal and administrative means 3.Influence and control by legal means and instruments over the activities of the specialized administration 4.Assisting the positive role and the ability to carry out public control and influence by the non-governmental organizations 5.Preparation, management and realization of national and international projects related to the development and improvement of health care 6.Analysis and preparation of suggestions for changes in legislation and control over application of law in health care 7.Interaction with governmental and non-government organizations for the creation of the necessary conditions for exercising the rights of citizens.
