The audit committee did not approve the specification for medicines |

At its second meeting since it was created the Audit committee has not approved the specification for medicines under Regulation 34. The first surprise to some of the members of the committee has been that the proposed list of medicines and quantities for which there will be tenders is different from the list determined by the commission that prepared the document. For many of the medicines there was a substantial discrepancy between the quantities ordered by the dispensary clinics and these set by the ministry. It turned out as well that there are medicines that are included in Regulation 34 but are lacking in the specification and visa versa. The most confusing is however that most medicines for treatment of rare diseases are missing. So despite the accepted Programme for treatment of rare diseases and the loud promises of the politicians to secure it financially the patients with the Goshe disease, with mucopolysaccharidosis and many others may be left without medicines for 2010. Finally the Audit committee did not accept the specification proposed by the consultant Dudov and returned it for corrections to the commission. The majority of the experts however think that there will not be substantial changes due to the pressing deadlines of the tender procedures. So with the excuse of the lack of time all will face an accomplished fact
