The national alliance of rare diseases sent a letter to prime minister Boyko Borisov. In the letter a deep concern is expressed by the patients' organizations in the alliance that most of so called rare diseases have not been included in the specification for the upcoming tenders for 2010. Most of these medicines have been supplied so far by the ministry of health. They are included in Regulation 34 and in the Positive medicine list. There is no information about what the reasons are that the consultant associate prof Dudov excludes them form the upcoming tenders. It is not known neither if the minister definitely approved the specification of Dudov nor what the fate will be of the hundreds of patients that live only because the state so far provided them this treatment. The chairman of the alliance of rare diseases Mr Vladimir Tomov addressed the prime minister Borisov to get involved because the last negotiated quantities for 2009 have been depleted and new ones are not coming. The complete letter of Vladimir Tomov you can read here.
