Over 1000 patients with rare diseases are left without medicines for 2010. For 200 of them that will be fatal because there is no replacing treatment. Such patients suffer from the Goshe disease, mucopolysaccharidosis, Wilson disease, immune deficiency and others. That was announced at a press conference of the National Alliance of rare diseases held at BTA today. It turned out that the reasons are not only the lack of funds but in most cases are related to premature bureaucratic procedures. Many of the patients complained of the rude and impolite attitude of the clerks at the ministry of health as we well as of the refusal to hold any dialogue with the patients. The National alliance of rare diseases have sent a letter to prime minister Boyko Borisov and according to them it is their last hope that their problems will be solved. The patients' organizations declared their determination to organize protests if their just demands are not satisfied. The ministry of health did not send a representative to the press conference. According to information from there minister Nanev and the chairman of the health commission Luchezar Ivanov are at an unofficial visit to the USA.
