Doctors from all over the country signal that the NHIS has stopped payments to all health institutions in the country. Insiders claim that the new Chairman of the Governing board of NHIS Vladislav Goranov has ordered that payments be stopped to the service providers until 'second notice'. It is not known if this order is a whim or it is because the lack of enough money. There is no an official announcement neither from the NHIS nor from its local divisions. Officially however the LHIS have given a two-day deadline to all hospitals to submit their reports for the month of November. One thing is sure that if Mr Goranov has decided to shake the whip and show who is in command then he has chosen the shortest route to a national protest of the medics.
