NHIS introduces delegated budgets for medicines |
In the last moment NHIS has 'introduced' an amendment to the prepared for signing NFA according to which delegated budgets will be determined to the general practitioners for the medicines that they prescribe. That means that every doctor will have to calculate the sum that NHIS pays for every prescribed medicine and observe that this sum does not exceed the determined budget. If the budget is exceeded the sum will be deducted from the next payment of NHIS to the doctor. In that situation if a patient needs a prescription of medicines and his doctor has depleted the limit then he will have to buy the medicines on the free market because he can not go to another doctor even if he wants to because the change of the general practitioner can be done only twice a year.
